Ash Wednesday began with a sad news, one of the church members died. We just completed the introduction to the Epistle of John study, but it still didn't prepare us for this death. Few days before, one member's husband passed away. There are members who are sick and some ended up in the hospital. Death and sickness surround us and we are all pulling together to support one another.
This Lenten season is a preparation time for the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Most of the times we don't look beyond death, but this season reminds us that we have to look beyond the grave to resurrection. One of the tributes during our member's husband's memorial service said, always remember that he's with the Lord, and this helps her when she lost her husband.
May be prepare our Lenten journey to go beyond the grave to resurrection and eternal life.

Lent 2011
Lent will be a time to reflect on how we follow Jesus and how Jesus was able to overcome temptation! Prayer and seriously reading God's words. I will try to update this blog daily. Shalom
